An official added that safety barricades had been put up to safeguard the perimeter and fence off the damaged area while an investigation was being conducted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A spokesperson for the Mumbai Airport provided a detailed statement, stating that &#8220;On Sunday, May 7, 2023, at 18:32 hrs., a portion of the perimeter wall of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) near Gate 27 collapsed due to ongoing construction &amp; maintenance work on the city-side, adjoining the wall.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cisf.gov.in\/cisfeng\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Central Industrial Security Force (<\/a>CISF) and CSMIA Airside Security were notified of the event as soon as it was reported. Safety barricades were swiftly put up to fence off the affected area and safeguard the perimeter.
