Middle East Carrier Emirates<\/a> SkyCargo has demonstrated its confidence in the global cargo market by adding two Boeing 747<\/a> 400Fs to its freighter fleet amid the current environment of volatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates SkyCargo is a cargo airline headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. According to the latest available data from 2020, the company ranks as the fourth largest cargo airline globally in terms of both total freight tonne-Km flown and international freight tonne-Km flown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates Adds Two Boeing 747<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is anticipating an increase of 15 more freighters in its fleet through the company’s recently announced orders and freighter conversion program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cargo division of Emirates will also receive additional belly-hold capacity from new passenger aircraft deliveries. Further, with the Airbus A350s set to arrive in late summer 2024, followed by the 777-Xs the following year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates SkyCargo plans to increase its capacity and add more than 20 new destinations to its freighter network. Subsequently, it will provide enhanced flexibility and services to its customers over the next ten years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company aims to achieve this by expanding its fleet mix, which currently consists of 777s, 777-Fs, 747-Fs, A350s, and A380s, to over 300 wide-body aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the current market volatility, Nabil Sultan, the Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, expressed the company’s determination to proceed with its plans. The global air cargo market is expected to increase by 3-5% in the medium to long term. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dubai’s focus on doubling its foreign trade will provide a big opportunity for Emirates SkyCargo in the multimodal logistics space. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The addition of 2 leased Boeing 747-Fs will provide immediate capacity. While 5 new 777Fs will be delivered in 2024 and 2025, and 10 777-300ERs will be converted over the next 5 years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s MRO set-up will allow it to scale up its freighter conversion program if needed. The new planes will complement the fleet of 11 Boeing 777 freighters. Further, it will be deployed to Chicago and Hong Kong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a recent statement, Nabil Sultan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, expressed excitement about the potential expansion of the freighter network with the addition of new aircraft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He highlighted that the new fleet mix would allow the company to serve its diverse customer base better and increase connectivity with the main Emirates network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Emirates SkyCargo is investing in new products and technology innovation. With the ambition to lead the market in delivering specialist solutions that are fast, reliable, flexible, and efficient. Sultan also teased that there are more developments to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emirates SkyCargo recently launched a new advertising campaign. Subsequently, showcasing its logistics business’s importance in connecting people and products worldwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The advert features everyday scenarios and highlights how essential Emirates SkyCargo is for transporting items. Such as life-saving healthcare products, fresh produce, flowers, pets, and valuables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
