The Airport Authority of India (AAI) has commenced the construction of the New Integrated Terminal Building for Rs 475 Crore to ease congestion at the Pune Airport during peak hours. By September 2023, the new structure will probably be operational.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The current terminal building, which has a built-up size of just 22000 square meters, can accommodate up to 7 MPPA passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new terminal building at Pune Airport will have a vast built-up area of more than 3,60,000 square feet and an increased passenger handling capacity of 9 million passengers per year (MPPA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

34 check-in counters, five-passenger boarding bridges, and an in-line baggage handling system will all be included in the posh new structure, which will have central air conditioning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a Four-Star GRIHA rating, the structure will be highly energy efficient. The passenger’s refreshment and enjoyment are ensured by providing 27,000 sq. ft. of area for F&B and retail shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the new structure and the existing building are combined. A massive canopy on the city side of both buildings will give the airport a spectacular appearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Verandah is more than 400 meters long. It is a unifying facade that offers shelter from the sun and rain and acts as a large urban fresco that depicts the rich social, historical, and artistic culture of Pune and Maharashtra<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beautiful arches and columns made of the local black stone support the facia of the public space below the large verandah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pune Airport’s renovated terminal building will allow it to manage the increase in passenger volume. Further, it will help the airport to relieve terminal congestion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
