Flydubai flight with 167 passengers traveling from Kathmandu, Nepal, to Dubai reportedly encountered a bird strike during take-off on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday (April 25th), the civil aviation authority of Nepal questioned whether a flydubai aircraft had indeed been impacted by a bird strike within Nepali airspace. Furthermore, they stated the description of the event provided by the UAE-based carrier as “misleading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a spokesperson for flydubai, the airplane proceeded with its journey. It was established that the engine was functioning within regular operational limits. The flight landed without any issues in Dubai shortly after midnight local time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to flight tracking website FlightRadar24, the Boeing 737-800 aircraft was supposed to depart from Kathmandu\u2019s Tribhuvan International Airport at 7.55 pm (local time). Still, it left at 9.19 pm (local time) and followed its usual route. The flight is scheduled to arrive in Dubai at 11.05 pm UAE time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nepal Denies<\/strong> Flydubai Flight Bird Strike Incident<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) announced on Twitter. That the country and airport managers of the airline had been prohibited from entering Kathmandu Airport, Citing the dissemination of “misleading” information regarding a bird strike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flydubai has expressed that it will provide a response imminently to the request for comment regarding the tweet. Meanwhile, the General Civil Aviation Authority of the UAE has yet to respond to the inquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nepal Statement<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jagannath Niroula, a spokesperson for the CAAN, stated that the pilot had not reported a bird strike. Meanwhile, there was no supporting evidence to substantiate the airline’s claim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niroula further added that the CAAN had initiated an investigation into the incident, as one of the plane’s engines had apparently caught fire soon after take-off from Kathmandu. A technical committee had been formed to look into the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
