On Thursday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to collaborate on aviation safety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MoU was signed during the inaugural day of the EU-India Aviation Summit. Further, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) also signed a declaration of intent with Eurocontrol. Later is a pan-European civil-military organization committed to supporting European aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DGCA Sign Deal with EU<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The MoU between DGCA and EASA will emphasize regulatory and safety cooperation. Subsequently, the declaration of intent between AAI and Eurocontrol will concentrate on air traffic control. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia remarked on the longstanding relationship between India and the EU. Further, he invited EU industry stakeholders to engage with the world’s fastest-growing aviation market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scindia highlighted the significant historical ties between India and the EU during his virtual address at the two-day summit. Which have grown stronger with increased physical, digital, and people-to-people connectivity facilitated by the aviation industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to a positive Covid-19 diagnosis, Scindia could not attend the event in person. Adina V\u0103lean, the European Union Commissioner for Transport, spoke virtually at the summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EU Commissioner for Transport, Adina V\u0103lean, emphasized that India and the EU are natural partners. Furthermore, she said, due to their shared experiences and objectives, ranging from commercial opportunities to aviation safety and security, sustainability, air traffic management, and consumer protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She hoped that aviation would become one of their most successful partnerships. Building on the successful history of cooperation and partnership in many other areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit addresses the air transport relations between the EU and India. Subsequently, the challenges and opportunities are shared by the two regions. These include the post-Covid recovery of air traffic, the promotion of sustainability, ensuring safety, and the developing of unmanned aircraft systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will witness the participation of key policymakers, industry leaders, and other stakeholders from both the EU and India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andreas Carlson, the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing of Sweden, expressed confidence in the strong bilateral relations between India and the EU. He predicted a bright future with even stronger cooperation and collaboration between the two regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
