Three UAE-based Airlines, including Emirates, flydubai, and Air Arabia, have canceled their trips to Sudan from April 15 to April 17 “due to the current situation in the country,” their respective spokespeople revealed to Khaleej Times<\/em> on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airlines assert that they are carefully observing the state of the civil disturbance in Khartoum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UAE-based Airlines Cancel Flights to Sudan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Emirates and flydubai, two Dubai-based airlines, have canceled all their flights to Sudan from April 15 to 17. Air Arabia has stated that all flights to Sudan “have been suspended until further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Emirates <\/a>can confirm that all of its flights to and from Khartoum are canceled from April 15 to 17, inclusive, due to the escalating scenario of civil disturbance in the capital of Sudan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be no acceptance of passengers for travel at their point of origin if they are connecting to Khartoum on these flights. For rebooking possibilities, affected guests should contact their travel agency or the Emirates phone center, said the airline spokeswoman, who also expressed regret for any inconvenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flydubai has also suspended its flights from April 15 to 17 between Dubai and Khartoum International Airport (KRT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are going to keep a careful eye on the situation. The Flydubai spokesman continued, “We apologize for disrupting our passengers’ travel plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, when battles with the army broke out in an intensifying power struggle, Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took possession of the presidential palace, the army chief’s home, and KRT on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The western city of El-Obeid and the northern city of Merowe both have airports that have been taken control of, according to a statement from the RSF. Witnesses reported firing in neighboring towns, and gunfire was audible throughout Khartoum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
