It has doubled the number of airports and heliports in the past nine years to 148.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>The terminal building at Chennai&#8217;s airport, according to Jyotiraditya Scindia, is a tribute to the speed at which Indian aviation is developing, she remarked during a speech she gave there in front of Prime Minister Modi.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-union-minister-jyotiraditya-scindia\">Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that only 6 crore passengers travelled through India in 2013\u20132014, but that figure has now increased to 14.5 crore annually in just nine years. On Saturday, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Narendra_Modi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prime Minister Narendra Modi <\/a><\/strong>celebrated the completion of development projects worth Rs 5,200 crore in Chennai. He credited the government&#8217;s commitment to excellence and its vision for achieving its goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that whereas delays were once associated with infrastructure projects, they are now associated with delivery. We have gone through a journey from delay to delivery because of the nature of our work. Every penny that our tax payers provide, we feel accountable for. In South Asia, India accounts for 69% of all air traffic. The last four years have seen persistent losses for Air India.
