The Maharashtra government granted<strong> Air India a 99-year lease<\/strong> on the land where the famous structure is located in 1970.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><br>In 2018, bids for the building&#8217;s sale were floated, but there was little interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, <\/strong>led by Uddhav Thackeray, reportedly made an offer of Rs 1,450 crore for the structure in 2021.
