The Air India Vistara merger will have a significant impact on the two carriers’ workforce. <\/strong>Nonetheless, the consequences will be severe for both airlines’ employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The workers of Vistara will be totally absorbed by Air India following the merger. This will allow over 5000 airline employees to find new jobs with Tata-owned Air India.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan made the statement during an interview at the CAPA Aviation Symposium<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Kannan went on to say that around 80% of Vistara’s employees work in operational roles. Pilots, flight attendants, and engineers are among them. As Vistara’s planes eventually integrate into Air India’s fleet, all crew will go through a transition period.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It should be emphasised that both airlines’ merger processes are now underway, and the airlines are working hard to secure the necessary clearances in order to fulfil the deadline. The procedure involves Indian aviation authorities, including the Ministry of Civil Aviation <\/strong>and the DGCA<\/strong>, as well as Singapore authorities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this merger, Air India would have a combined fleet of 218 planes, making it India’s largest international carrier and the country’s second-largest domestic carrier. The current Vistara fleet includes 41 Airbus A320, five A321neo, five Boeing 737-800NG, and two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Air India is concentrating on upgrading airline services with its five-year transformative strategy called Vihaan.AI<\/em>. <\/strong>This strategy is expected to improve the airline’s network, on-time performance, reliability, and customer service. The goal will be supplemented by carrying on Vistara’s legacy in terms of customer service. Vinod Kannan assured customers that they will continue to receive the same level of service after the merger with Air India.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
