An IndiGo Airline flight from Delhi to Doha, 6E-1736, was diverted to Karachi airport in Pakistan after a medical emergency<\/strong>. The passenger, a Nigerian, was certified dead on arrival by the airport medical staff, according to IndiGo Airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Due to a medical issue on board, IndiGo flight 6E-1736 from Delhi to Doha was diverted to Karachi. Unfortunately, the passenger was certified dead by the airport medical personnel upon arrival.” <\/em><\/strong><\/p>IndiGo said<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

A Civil Aviation Authority<\/strong> representative in Karachi verified that a passenger’s health worsened mid-flight on an Indian carrier trip from Delhi to Dubai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pilot of the IndiGo flight requested an emergency landing due to a medical emergency, which was granted by the Karachi airport’s Air Traffic Controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline stated that it was coordinating with the appropriate authorities to transfer the remaining passengers aboard the flight.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dead has been named as 60-year-old Nigerian native Abdullah. The passengers’ death certificates were given by the medical staff of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority <\/strong>(CAA) and National Institute of Health, Islamabad (NIH), <\/em>according to a story in Pakistan-based ARY News.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our sympathies and best wishes are with his family and loved ones as we are extremely saddened by the news. We are currently working with the appropriate authorities to arrange for the relocation of the remaining flight passengers,” <\/em>IndiGo declared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
