{"id":29444,"date":"2023-03-06T14:13:35","date_gmt":"2023-03-06T08:43:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?p=29444"},"modified":"2023-03-06T19:48:19","modified_gmt":"2023-03-06T14:18:19","slug":"jet-airways-lenders-plans-to-order-200-aircrafts-exclusive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/2023\/03\/06\/jet-airways-lenders-plans-to-order-200-aircrafts-exclusive\/","title":{"rendered":"Jet Airways Lenders Plans To Order 200 Aircraft | Exclusive"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">The Jalan-Kalrock consortium owner of Jet Airways has began planning to order 200 aircraft after the <strong>National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT)<\/strong> declined to suspend the ownership transfer as sought by the lenders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the persons who <strong>requested anonymity<\/strong>, the order might be announced as soon as June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/jetairways-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29446\" width=\"296\" height=\"164\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;<em>Jalan-Kalrock is in talks with aircraft OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) to place an order of at least <strong>200 planes of a mix of small, medium, and big <\/strong>narrow body jets at the Paris airshow in June for their five-year expansion strategy,&#8221;<\/em> one of the persons said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline&#8217;s strategy is to maintain an aircraft mix that allows it to capitalise on the market opportunity within India\u2014a combination of <strong>key metro markets and markets in smaller cities <\/strong>that have seen substantial growth in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To be sure, the airline has previously stated that it intends to place a significant order and is evaluating planes from <strong>Boeing and Airbus<\/strong>. They were unable to proceed, however, due to lender objections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jet Airlines and the consortium did not respond to Mint&#8217;s inquiries until after the deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to aviation specialists, ordering large aircraft is critical for an airline&#8217;s long-term strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"604\" height=\"388\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/landing-page-b-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/landing-page-b-2.png 604w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/landing-page-b-2-600x385.png 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/landing-page-b-2-300x193.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">\"One crucial factor for the Airline business is the <strong>long-term<\/strong> availability of equipment suitable for the intended network at the most inexpensive cost.\n Each order from Jet Airlines must include sufficient numbers and types of aircraft to ensure that <strong>Jet Airways<\/strong> has the correct size equipment to support its intended network.\n We believe Jet Airlines will require 250-300 aircraft orders to meet its <strong>8-10 year induction plan,<\/strong>\" said Vishok Mansingh, CEO of Vman, an aviation leasing firm.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Jet Airways&#8217; 200-plane order would bolster the Indian aviation market&#8217;s growth potential, which has seen Air India order 470 aircraft, the world&#8217;s largest single order by an airline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IndiGo is also in talks with aircraft manufacturers about ordering 500 planes, and Akasa, which ordered 72 planes in November 2021, is now expected to announce a &#8220;<strong>three-digit&#8221; purchase by the end of 2023, <\/strong>according to news reports. For background, India now has 700 registered planes that fly commercial flights throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/jetairways4-kU9G-621x414@LiveMint.jpg\" alt=\"Jalan-Kalrock consortium owner of Jet Airways has began planning to order 200 aircraft after the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) declined to suspend the ownership \" class=\"wp-image-29445\" width=\"298\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/jetairways4-kU9G-621x414@LiveMint.jpg 621w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/jetairways4-kU9G-621x414@LiveMint-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/jetairways4-kU9G-621x414@LiveMint-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 298px) 100vw, 298px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\">The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) refused to postpone an NCLT ruling from 13 January, which permitted <strong>Jet Airlines Ltd's ownership transfer to the Jalan-Kalrock consortium<\/strong>, the victorious resolution applicant, as Jet Airways' comeback to the sky entered its final phase on Wednesday.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>The plan must be implemented as approved by the NCLT,&#8221; <\/strong>the NCLAT bench led by Judge Ashok Bhushan stated, rejecting the lenders&#8217; request.
