SpiceJet flight bound for Bangkok made an emergency landing in Kolkata <\/strong>in the early hours of Monday. This occurred after the pilot discovered a broken engine blade.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emergency landing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to officials, the Boeing 737, flight SG83, took off from Kolkata airport at 1.09 a.m. with 178 passengers and six crew members bound for Bangkok. After a few minutes, the pilot saw that the left engine’s blade was damaged.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As soon as he made contact with air traffic control, a full emergency was declared at the airport in Kolkata, and the CISF’s emergency personnel as well as fire trucks and ambulances were waiting, they continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to airport officials, all of the passengers and crew were safely evacuated when the plane made an emergency landing at 1.27 am.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At two in the morning, they claimed, the main situation was over. At 7:10 am, the passengers boarded a different aeroplane bound for Bangkok, according to officials. According to them, the aeroplane with the damaged engine blade was being checked.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spicejet reports profit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SpiceJet recorded a multifold increase in net profit to Rs 107 crore<\/strong> for the three months ending December 2022, owing to improved performance in the passenger and cargo operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SpiceJet, which has been suffering a number of challenges, received roughly Rs 211 crore from the government’s Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme <\/strong>(ECLGS) in both the December and September quarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An additional amount of Rs 128.64 crore has been sanctioned under the initiative. Also, the airline is in talks with banks about obtaining an additional Rs 764 crore under the ECLGS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revenues for the airline increased by 4%<\/strong> in the most recent December quarter, from Rs 2,679 crore to Rs 2,794 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same period last year, the airline made a net profit of Rs 23.28 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SpiceXpress, the airline’s cargo division, reportedly posted a net profit of Rs 12 crore for the quarter ending in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline’s net profit for the third quarter of the current fiscal year, adjusted for foreign exchange, was Rs 221 crore, compared to Rs 20 crore for the same quarter a year earlier<\/em>, it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
