The aircraft&#8217;s descent near Phuket was completed when the failure occurred.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-thai-smile-airbus\">Thai Smile Airbus <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thaiairways.com\/en_TH\/experience_my_thai\/our_aircraft\/aircraft\/320.page?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Thai Smile Airbus A320-200<\/a><\/strong>, registered as HS-TXG, was operating flight WE207 on Wednesday, February 22nd, from Bangkok to Phuket. The Aviation Herald claims that one of the jet&#8217;s engines failed as the aircraft descended toward Phuket. The crew continued to land at <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Suvarnabhumi_Airport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Phuket&#8217;s <\/a><\/strong>runway 09 because Phuket was, at the moment, the obvious nearest appropriate airport to the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports, the touchdown was a hard landing that resulted in a tail strike. However the A320 rolled out without incident, and no injuries were mentioned. The quick fixes took an hour to complete.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Three days after the incident, at the time of this article&#8217;s publishing, the A320 is still on the ground in Phuket. There were no prior operators of the aircraft, which Airbus handed immediately to the Thai Airways group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thai Smile is a regional branch of Thai Airlines, and as of right now, it has a fleet of 20 Airbus A320-200s, all of which are Airbus models. The fleet is 9.2 years old on average at the moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thai Smile appears to have fared reasonably well in terms of notable, recorded occurrences during the last three or four years. It&#8217;s true that previous to February 22nd, the most recent occurrence that was recorded occurred on November 27, 2019.
