India improved from position 112 to position 55 in the International Civil Aviation Organization’s oversight safety audit programme (ICAO<\/strong>). After the ICAO Coordinated Validation Mission in India turned in its final report, the ranking was raised. In India, the mission took place between November 9 and November 16, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme (USOAP<\/strong>) is based on eight critical elements (CE) of a safety oversight system, which are measured by a set of protocol questions (PQs). <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eight critical areas of the audit are Primary Aviation Legislation and Civil Aviation Regulations (LEG), Civil Aviation Organization (ORG), Personnel Licensing and Training (PEL), Aircraft Operations (OPS), Airworthiness of Aircraft (AIR), Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation (AIG), Air Navigation Services (ANS), and Aerodromes and Ground Aids (AGA).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Out of 137 PQs on the most recent voyage to India, 101 PQs were now considered “satisfactory<\/strong>.” In addition, 1 PQ was not related to the report, leaving just 35 PQs as “not adequate” <\/strong>at the same time. Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation (AIG) and Air Navigation Services were not included of the most recent evaluation mission (ANS). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

India received an Effective Implementation (EI) rate of 85.65% based on the aforementioned criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICAO Audit in India <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ICAO is able to regularly monitor the safety obligations of its 187 member states thanks to the Universal Safety Oversight Audit Programme. <\/strong>The ICAO, which serves as the global watchdog for civil aviation, makes sure that member states uphold their duty to increase aviation safety within their own borders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The audit enables the ICAO to ascertain if a nation’s legal framework complies with international agreements and standards. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The organisation can make sure the nations can apply the ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs), <\/strong>as well as the essential aviation safety protocols and best practises for civil aviation, through the audit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
