Due to severe weather and moderate to heavy snowfall over the Valley on Monday, all flights to and from Kashmir were grounded, according to officials.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All 68 planes that were planned to depart from the Srinagar airport <\/a>were canceled as a result of the constant snowfall, which decreased visibility to under 500 meters. In many locations, the snowfall, which started late on Sunday night, was still going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Srinagar-Jammu national highway was closed and the Kashmir valley was cut off from the outside world because of the heavy snowfall that occurred on Monday morning. Train service on the Baramulla-Banihal rail line was also suspended due to poor weather. Additionally, all flights to and from Srinagar airport were canceled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While rain pelted the Jammu division today, heavy snow began to fall across the Valley. However, according to the Met office, the bad weather will persist for the following 12 hours.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Meteorological (MeT) department said<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

“Adverse weather is likely to continue during the next 12 hours,” a representative of the Meteorological (MeT) department said, noting that things would start to get better from Monday evening. “Moderate to heavy snowfall occurred in the Valley, and rain lashed Jammu division since the early hours of Monday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
