The incident occurred almost 2 weeks after a Moscow-to-Goa flight made an emergency landing at Gujarat’s Jamnagar airport following a bomb threat.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Goa-bound aircraft from Moscow has received a bomb threat, officials aware of the matter said. It was yet to enter Indian airspace when the threat was sent via email to the Goa International Airport<\/a> (Dabolim) Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Azur Airplane – with 247 passengers aboard – has been diverted to an airport in Uzbekistan, officials said.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

This is the second time in recent weeks that a flight intended for Goa has been diverted. Another charter flight of the same airline was diverted to Jamnagar, Gujarat, earlier this month due to a bomb concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

236 people were on board the aircraft when it had to make an emergency landing. “The Indian authorities informed the Embassy about the supposed bomb fear on the Azur Air flight while it was flying from Moscow <\/a><\/strong>to Goa international airport. At Jamnagar Indian Air Force Base, the plane made a forced landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everyone on board is safe. The Russian embassy immediately issued a statement saying, “The authorities are conducting a thorough evaluation of the aircraft,” after the incident on January 9 was reported. The aircraft was given permission to take off the following day since the encounter appeared to be a silly prank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
