A SpiceJet plane bound for Kozhikode with 197 passengers and 6 crew members <\/strong>made an emergency landing at the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) in Kochi on Friday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An official from the airport reported that the reason for the emergency landing was the hydraulic failure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SpiceJet flight took off from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). The airport announced an emergency at 6:29 pm after SpiceJet-SG 036 flight which was bound for Kozhikode airport diverted to Kochi due to some equipment malfunction.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Full emergency was announced at Kochi airport at 18:29 hours. The flight landed safely at 19.19 hours on the runway after an emergency landing situation,” the airport spokesperson told.\u201cThe SpiceJet flight landed safely at 19.19 hours on the runway an emergency landing situation,\u201d said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This comes amid increased emphasis by the aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)<\/a><\/strong> which continuously pushes airlines to confirm better safety practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, the IndiGo airline launched a digital e-logbook for pilots which will facilitate the transfer of pilots’ flight data directly to the aviation regulator. “In collaboration with the <\/strong><\/a>Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)<\/a><\/strong>, the e-logbook will provide direct flight data transfer service to pilots from IndiGo systems to GCA logbooks, effective December 1, 2022,” the company stated in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

e-Governance of Civil Aviation (GCA) is an online platform that operates various digital processes under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)<\/strong>. The platform will make the logbook process automated and the regulator will get real-time details about the flight operations by pilots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
