The Airbus A320\u2019s (VT-BKK) brake fan was working under the minimum equipment list (MEL) \u2014 which means it was to be repaired within a certain time frame but was safe to be operated till that happened, states sources. An AirAsia India spokesperson stated: \u201cflight I5-1427 operating from Pune to Bengaluru revoked take-off and returned to bay due to a technical reason. AirAsia India regrets the inconvenience to guests caused due to the delay.\u201d
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)<\/a><\/strong> is probing this case. The pilots had got a \u201cbrake hot ECAM caution\u201d after which they safely aborted takeoff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


According to the website SKYbrary, \u201celectronic centralized aircraft monitor (ECAM) is a system on Airbus aircraft for monitoring and displaying engine and plane system information to the pilots. In the event of a malfunction, it will display the fault and may also display the appropriate steps of the remedial action.\u201d In this case, the warning was about the brake hot on an aircraft operating under MEL for the brake fan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
