After laying the foundation stone, Mr. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.narendramodi.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Narendra Modi<\/a> stated \u201cToday we have taken a major step towards making India into an aircraft manufacturing hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, India manufactures fighter aircraft, tanks, and submarines. Besides, Indian medicines and vaccines are saving the lives of millions across the globe. Transport aircraft to be built at Vadodara, Gujrat will not only provide strength to our armed forces but will also develop a new ecosystem for aircraft manufacturing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr. Narendra Modi stated, \u201cWe have carried out several economic reforms over the years. These reforms have hugely benefitted the manufacturing sector and given it a boost.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi told\u201cOur policy is stable, predictable, and futuristic. The Request For Proposal (RFP) was issued to international firms in May 2013 and the sole bid by Airbus and TASL with the C-295 aircraft was approved by the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) in May 2015. In September 2021, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mod.gov.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ministry of Defence (MoD<\/a><\/strong>) signed a \u20b921,935 crore agreement with Airbus Defence and Space, Spain for the procurement of 56 C-295MW aircraft. This is the 1st project in which a military aircraft will be manufactured in India under technology transfer by the private sector.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The C295 is an aircraft of 5-10 tonne capacity used for tactical transport of up to 71 passengers or 50 paratroopers, and logistic operations to locations that are not accessible to current heavier aircraft and has a proven capability of operating from short or unprepared airstrips, told N. The first of 40, Made in India aircraft is expected from September 2026 and completed by 2031 at the rate of eight aircraft per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>With 285 aircraft ordered and 38 operators in 34 different countries, the C295 has achieved more than 500,000 flight hours.
