Today from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA<\/strong>) in Mumbai will be closed for routine maintenance and repairs on both of its runways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accordingly, flights have been rescheduled, according to a statement from the airport. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSMIA has scheduled a runway closure on Tuesday, October 18, from 11 a.m. to 17 p.m. for maintenance and repair work on both of its runways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport stated in its traveller advisory on Monday: RWY 14\/32 & 9\/27. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the alert, significant work will be done, including upgrading AGL (Aeronautical Ground Lighting)<\/strong> and installing runway edge lights for runway 14\/32, as part of the airport’s post-monsoon preventive maintenance of the runway intersection. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The advisory continued, With more than 800 flights landing and taking off each day, this annual practise of runway maintenance post monsoons is one of the series of activities undertaken with accuracy and meticulous efforts ensuring operational continuity and passenger safety<\/strong>, thus bringing to life the vision of imbibing passenger first approach at the core of our operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CSMIA advisory also stated that flights during this time period have been rescheduled in collaboration with airline customers and other important stakeholders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also expressed a desire for the support and cooperation of the travelling public.One of the busiest airports in the nation<\/strong> for both domestic and foreign flights is the one in Mumbai. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

On October 1, a fake email was sent to the airport’s management threatening to blow up an Indigo flight bound for Ahmedabad.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I will blow up flight 6E 6045<\/strong>, the one-line email, which was received from an encrypted ProtonMail account, said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At 9.30 p.m., the flight was scheduled to depart for Ahmedabad. After a safety check, it finally took off at 10.45 pm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
