Pakistan’s national carrier Pakistan International Airlines immediately withdrew the bulletin, due to the backlash it received, the airline 24 hours after the statement came up with a clarification to downplay it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After receiving harsh criticism for its odd dress code for its cabin crew, which mandated that they wear underwear underneath the uniform, <\/a>Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)<\/a> <\/strong>was forced to explain on Friday.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, Pakistan International Airlines instructed its personnel to wear undergarments underneath their uniforms because failing to do so would “portray a negative image” of the airline and provide a “poor impression.” Unsurprisingly, the diktat received a lot of “inappropriate” criticism from various sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national carrier immediately withdrew the bulletin, due to the backlash it received. Hardly 24 hours later, Pakistan International Airlines came out with a carefully-worded clarification in an attempt to downplay the incident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Even though the spirit behind the advisory was to ensure proper dress code, however, the standard bulletin, inadvertently, came out with an inappropriate selection of words,” Pakistan International Airlines’s Chief HR Officer<\/a><\/strong> told in a written clarification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I feel guilty and am completely convinced that the words could have been more civilized and appropriate in this context instead of words published, which, unfortunately, are being trolled and twisted towards the defamation of the company,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
