Due to the right engine&#8217;s failure, a V2500 made by International Aero Engines, the flight took off at 22:03 local time and landed in Guadalajara almost an hour later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local reports state that <em>the aircraft&#8217;s passengers heard a loud boom coming from the right engine as it was climbing out of Guadalajara&#8217;s runway 10 when the incident occurred. Later, sparks and flame streaks were observed coming from the engine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to The Aviation Herald<em>, the crew halted the ascent at 13,000 feet, shut off the engine, and descended back to Guadalajara. The plane was safely landed, and the flight was delayed for almost 12 hours.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Using an Airbus A320neo with the registration XA-VIJ, flight VB518 departed once more at 6:50 on Wednesday, <\/em>according to information from<em> <strong>FlightRadar24.com<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">VivaAerobus Airbus A320 (XA-VAJ, built 2015) safely returned to land at Guadalajara-Intl AP (MMGL), Mexico following a surge in the right engine #2 shortly after take-off on flight <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/VB518?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#VB518<\/a> to Los Angeles. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kimbertothelee?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@kimbertothelee<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4JkXdekddl\">pic.twitter.com\/4JkXdekddl<\/a><\/p>&mdash; JACDEC (@JacdecNew) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JacdecNew\/status\/1562359640008056832?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 24, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Airbus A320 that experienced the engine failure was still parked in Guadalajara as of Wednesday afternoon. Viva Aerobus was contacted for comment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The airline declared<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><em>&#8220;The Viva Aerobus crew returned to Guadalajara International Airport in accordance with established safety procedures, making a successful landing at 22:45 hours, confirming the safety of all passengers and crew members. In accordance with the manufacturer&#8217;s established procedures, which are created to continue safe operation under these circumstances, control of the aircraft was always kept in tact. Additionally, when passengers needed it, the crew attended to them promptly and professionally.&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Viva Aerobus fleet<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Airbus A320-200 <\/strong>with the registration XA-VAJ belongs to Viva Aerobus and was first delivered in September 2015. Its single cabin can accommodate 186 passengers, and the Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier owns the entire aircraft. About 30 minutes after taking off from the same runway, the aircraft made its landing on Seattle&#8217;s runway 16L.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cAlaska Airlines Flight 558 from Seattle to San Diego on Monday morning reported an unusual vibration on the left side of the aircraft soon after departure. The aircraft returned to the airport and landed safely.
