But before we get into it, let&#8217;s look into Trujet airline fleets, routes, and operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-introduction-of-trujet-airline\"><strong>Introduction <\/strong>of Trujet Airline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Trujet Airlines is owned by Turbo Airways Pvt Ltd company based in Hyderabad. It was incorporated on <strong>14th Mar 2013<\/strong> with backing from <strong>Ram Charan, Vankayalapati Umesh, and 20 other<\/strong> Investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG-20220216-WA0008-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"Trujet-airline-exclusive-story\" class=\"wp-image-26182\" width=\"1027\" height=\"578\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG-20220216-WA0008-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG-20220216-WA0008-600x338.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG-20220216-WA0008-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG-20220216-WA0008-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG-20220216-WA0008-750x422.jpg 750w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG-20220216-WA0008-1140x641.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/IMG-20220216-WA0008.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1027px) 100vw, 1027px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Trujet-airline-exclusive-story<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline commenced its operations on <strong>12th July 2015<\/strong> with its<strong> first flight from Hyderabad Airport to Tirupati.<\/strong> It operates a fleet of ATR-72 Aircraft and is used to connect around 25 destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Airline is the biggest beneficiary of the <strong>UDAN scheme and RCS routes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Trujet Story<\/strong>&#8211; Airline On Verge of Shutdown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Indian Regional Airline-<strong>Trujet<\/strong> is on<strong> the <\/strong>verge of collapse, and in the current situation, it seems like <strong>only Miracle can save it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trujet on <strong>Highrise<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Trujet airline which was earlier owned by promoters sold it to Hyderabad-based <strong>Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL)<\/strong>&nbsp;and hence the name of the parent company became <strong>Turbo Megha Airways Private Limited<\/strong> to raise funds for operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regional airlines saw a major decline in <strong>Passenger Load Factors (PLF)<\/strong> due to cut-throat competition from rising LCCs. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?s=dgca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">DGCA<\/a> data, from April to September 2018 the Regional airlines achieved around <strong>18-52% PLF<\/strong> which is way lesser than National airlines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was the starting point for the decline of Regional carriers in India. But despite this, <strong>Trujet Performance was decent<\/strong> with <strong>75 to 83% of PLFs<\/strong>. They were planning to add more aircraft to its Fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall it was a difficult time for Indian Aviation Industry, and many airlines reported Financial losses due to High competition, rising fuel prices, and Inflation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Covid<strong> Crashed the plan<\/strong> of Trujet<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline was in expansion face but <strong>unexpectedly covid hit the world<\/strong> and everything fall apart for them. Multiple Industries faced issues, the <strong>Travel industry was the first to get pierced<\/strong> due to lockdowns, Domestic and International Travel Restrictions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During that time, <a href=\"https:\/\/meil.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Parent Company<\/a> <strong>Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL)<\/strong> were handling lots of Government projects including the construction of Water Dams, power plants, Irrigational structures, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But due to Covid restrictions, <strong>MEIL was unable to get funds<\/strong> from the government and they were stuck in bizarre situations. Due to this, their expenses were raised and they <strong>didn&#8217;t put any money into the Trujet<\/strong>. They decided to<strong> wait for covid 19 to leave the industry<\/strong>. They will induct funds once they will restart again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this time<strong> there were scheduled engine changes and financial stress from lessors for payment<\/strong>. The same happened to Trujet, from a <strong>fleet of Seven aircraft in 2020 <\/strong>it now has<strong> zero as of April 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>First Aircraft (VT-TMM) they lost in 2020 <\/strong>due to an<strong> <\/strong>accident and the aircraft was <strong>written off<\/strong> as it was beyond economical repair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>One aircraft<\/strong> (VT-TMC) was taken back and given on lease to<strong> Fly Big Airlines<\/strong> in July 2020 and <strong>another aircraft<\/strong> (VT-TMT) in Jun 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Another<\/strong> <strong>Three aircraft<\/strong> (VT-TMK, TMP, TMU) were taken back by lessors (<strong>Elix Aviation Capital<\/strong>) due to the non-availability of payment in Apr 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last aircraft (VT-TMN) was also taken back through<strong> IDERA<\/strong> by <strong>Aergo Capital<\/strong> in April 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is how Trujet airline <strong>lost its fully operational fleet of Seven aircraft<\/strong> and is on verge of a Complete shutdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Issues<\/strong> among Airlines Investors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline was <strong>started by Vankayalapati Umesh<\/strong>, also the owner of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.turboaviation.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Turbo Aviation<\/a> in 2015. The rivalry between investors created a rift among other investors and the airline faced financial issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July 2021, <strong>Laxmi Prasad<\/strong> the founder of<strong> US-Based Interups <\/strong>company was ready to induct funds into the airline. with this Deal, the operations of Trujet airline were <strong>shifted to HITEC City Madhapur, Hyderabad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But <strong>things didn&#8217;t work<\/strong> as planned and the MEIL group started for another investor to hand over the airline and get their hands off it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Again Umesh<\/strong>, the founder came into Picture and told MEIL group that he will find new investors. MEIL group handed over the operations to him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The talks with Investors are <strong>not working out<\/strong> and they are desperately looking for Promoters to buy stakes and save the airline from collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Employees <\/strong>are in Trouble <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The employees are paid half salaries on a rotational basis since June 2021. The airline<strong> used to have 800 Employees <\/strong>but that number has come <strong>down to 150-200 only<\/strong>. Almost <strong>1\/4 of employees left the company<\/strong> due to unstable future and salary issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Feb 2022 the employees have not received their salary and they are waiting for the company to recover from the crisis and also alternatively looking for a Job but due to fewer opportunities in the Indian aviation Industry, they don&#8217;t have any other options than to stay with grounded airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former Employee told us when asked about Comeback,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Only Miracle can Make it possible for Trujet airlines to touch the Sky again<\/strong>.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further said, &#8220;I hope Trujet airline don&#8217;t shutdown and stand back to its feet.&#8221;<\/p>\n<cite>Former Trujet Employee Statement<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The <strong>Biggest Assets<\/strong> of Trujet Airlines<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline has the biggest asset left is its <strong>Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) Routes<\/strong>. These gave airlines lots of flexibility to operate in Western and southern parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Airline also have a <strong>security deposit<\/strong> that they gave to aircraft lessors,<strong> Costly spares for maintenance<\/strong> in Inventory, And a<strong> reputation in the Travel Industry<\/strong> as their Key Assets<strong> along with RCS Routes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Air Operator Permit (AOP) is<strong> On Hold<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian Regulatory body, DGCA has kept the <strong>AOP of Trujet on hold due to the suspension of its operations<\/strong>. The airline is in talks with DGCA to not cancel their AOP. They are <strong>Sending DGCA their Progress Report<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier the airline used to have a regional permit but with experience, they got a National permit. They can now operate in any part of the country. This Permit is their<strong> lifeline and if cancelled then it will shut them down<\/strong> completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Some Hope<\/strong> for Trujet Airline from WinAir<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier <strong>Flydubai<\/strong> showed interest to buy a stake in the Airline due to its RCS routes. The Routes connect tier 1 cities with Tier 2 and 3 cities. These can act as a feeder for them. They might <strong>restart the operations<\/strong> with <strong>New Business Plan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Summarzing<\/strong> the Story of Trujet Airline<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Airline which started as a new hope for regional cities was growing under UDAN RCS Scheme halted due to covid and lessors trouble. They were unable to find new investors. But WinAir showed some ray of hope to the sinking ship, they might restart but it will be a blessing for Trujet Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trujet Airlines is the<strong> first Indian airline to suspend its operation after covid-19<\/strong>. The future seems to fade and only a miracle can save it from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline has temporarily suspended its operations<strong> since Feb 2022 due to a grounded fleet and poor finances.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We hope that the Trujet makes a strong Comeback to Indian Skies.
