The top deck of the decommissioned plane was set to become a tourist attraction in Salford. It was transported from Kemble, on the edge of the Cotswolds. It set off about 9.30 am and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/news\/greater-manchester-news\/british-airways-boeing-747-driven-24560145\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&nbsp;reportedly<\/a> made its way along the M5, M6, M56, and M60, before arriving in Salford around four and a half hours later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sighting-of-the-top-deck-on-m6\">Sighting of the Top Deck on M6<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Drivers on the M6 wound up doing a double-take at the sight of a massive plane cruising up the motorway today. The top deck of a decommissioned Boeing 747 got stuck in traffic but made its way through to Salford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jumbo Jet uses the M6 which was sighted and circulated over various social media. Alongside, the company deferred to&nbsp;CrowdFunder&nbsp;to raise the costs for Boeing\u2019s transport up north from Kemble on the edge of The Cotswolds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u2018The Deck\u2019 to become a Tourist Attraction<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Doors2Manual plans to use &#8216;The Deck&#8217;, as it&#8217;s been dubbed, as a backdrop for weddings and conferences and for educational purposes. As such, this is not a final goodbye to the infamous art of the&nbsp;British Airways&nbsp;G-BYGA aircraft. The company wrote;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe top deck will arrive to us mainly intact, but in order to help create a unique visitor experience we need to source quite a number of flight deck components to bring her back to full life and invest in making the hangar she will sit in a truly spectacular home.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">An important piece of British aviation history made the journey from Cotswold Airport up to Barton City Airport along the M5, M6, M56 and M60 for the preservation.<br><br>The upper deck of former British Airways B747-400 (Regd. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the final 38 were sent for premature retirement. British Airways scrapped all 31 of its 747s \u2013 10 per cent of its entire fleet.
