Spectators viewed the A321neo on a beach directly in front of the airport perimeter fence. The sight was both spectacular and terrifying for those on the ground. The aircraft arrived close enough that many people instinctively ducked or ran from it. No injuries have been said. The pilots held their course and managed to make a safe landing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the airline has made no comments regarding the event. The reporter has reached out to Wizz Air for a comment and will update this article once it has been received. A regular occurrence airport at <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Skiathos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skiathos <\/a>has built a reputation for low approaches on short-final to land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airfield has a short runway and low-approach path, demanding large aircraft to arrive lower than at most other airports. This reputation has made this beach a very popular place for plane spotters. It offers up close shots of aircraft on landing. However, this was undoubtedly one of the lowest. With present aircraft technology, this approach will remain the same for the foreseeable future. Due to the island&#8217;s geography, any runway extension would be challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>The airport is found on the northeast side of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Skiathos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skiathos island<\/a>, and stretches from coast to coast, making it nearly impossible to extend.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wizz Air is one of many air carriers that regularly fly to Skiathos.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This particular flight was flown on the Airbus A321neo. One of the newest and biggest aircraft in the fleet. Due to the short runway in Skiathos, it is typical for airlines to fly some of their smallest aircraft on this route. This makes the A321neo one of the biggest aircraft to land at Skiathos regularly.
