All the major international aerospace companies are expected to make announcements at this year’s Farnborough Airshow, and Pratt & Whitney made a few of its own on the first day. Among them was its goal to set up an engineering center in India, strengthening its ties with the country and making use of its vast engineering resources.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New engineering center in India<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pratt & Whitney\u00a0declared on Monday that it is setting up a state-of-the-art India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru. The US aerospace manufacturer declared on the sidelines of the ongoing\u00a0Farnborough Airshow\u00a0and stated that the center is slated to commence operation start in next year in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IEC will focus on providing contract engineering services and is expected to hire 500 engineers and professionals when fully staffed. Geoff Hunt, Senior Vice President, Engineering, Pratt & Whitney, remarked,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPratt & Whitney\u2019s<\/a> India Engineering Center will be the first-of-its-kind investment for our company in India. The IEC will allow Pratt & Whitney leverage the engineering skills our future Indian workforce will deliver, as Pratt & Whitney<\/a> continues to advance the world’s only fielded geared turbofan and develop sustainable propulsion for the next generation of propulsion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IEC will be co-located in Yelahanka, Bengaluru where the company launched the Pratt & Whitney India Capability Center (ICC) earlier this year.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

United Technologies Corporation India Pvt Ltd<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The ICC is a world-class international supply chain support and operations center, launched in 2022 as part of United Technologies Corporation India Pvt Ltd (UTCIPL), operating almost 200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new engineering center will be combined with Pratt & Whitney’s international engineering operations and will operate near with the US<\/a>, Canada<\/a>, Puerto Rico, and Poland centers. The IEC has already begun recruiting its first set of engineers and professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
