After an incidence of hydraulic failure was reported from an Air Arabia flight on Friday evening, a full emergency was declared at the Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the plane had successfully landed, the full emergency, which had been declared at 6.41 p.m., was withdrawn at 8.22 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A representative for the airport said that the Air Arabia G9-426 flight from Sharjah landed safely at 7:29 p.m., 16 minutes after the planned time. At 7:13 p.m., the plane was about to touch down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seven staff members and 222 passengers were on board. According to the spokeswoman, all of them are secure and there have been no recent problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“CIAL has been able to manage the airport emergency scenario thanks to a concerted effort and prompt coordination. Even though this incident only recently occurred, it was demonstrated that the safety mechanisms were successful”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\nCIAL’s managing director, S. Suhas, remarked<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

At 8:11 p.m., the runway was cleared, and at 8:14 p.m., it was deemed operationally sound. The full emergency was withdrawn shortly after an Indigo flight headed for Chennai took off, and operations soon resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hydraulics control the movement of the aircrafts up and down as well as left and right. However, it is not clear if all movements were troubled during the flight. Even if the hydraulics are failed, flight can be landed with engine controls.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
