On July 8, Rohini Bhatia, a non-executive and non-independent director, announced her resignation from the board of directors of the business.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of the nation’s largest airline IndiGo, made the announcement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rohini Bhatia, who joined the board in 2019, is the spouse of IndiGo co-founder and promoter Rahul Bhatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The low-cost carrier stated in an exchange filing: “\u2026we hereby tell you that Rohini Bhatia, a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director, has offered her resignation from the Board of Directors of the Company owing to other responsibilities, with effect from July 11, 2022.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rohini Bhatia is the organization’s CSR committee’s chair, according to the IndiGo website. She also serves as the head of InterGlobe Foundation, the nonprofit division of InterGlobe Group.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rohini Bhatia is a director on the boards of many InterGlobe Group firms and holds a diploma in textile design.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, IndiGo announced that starting on August 1st, salaries would increase by 8%. This comes after a sizable number of cabin crew members took sick leave, causing delays on 55 percent of IndiGo’s domestic flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, the airline announced a 28 percent reduction in pilot compensation, citing a difficult revenue environment brought on by the epidemic. When the major airline in India offered an 8% raise in April of this year, the pay were largely restored. The most recent action will contribute to the pilots’ pay being restored by 16 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline also informed the pilots that starting on November 1 there will be an additional 6.5 percent salary restoration “depending on the environment<\/em><\/strong>.” With effect from July 1, the airline recently reinstated layover and deadhead allowances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the BSE, shares of IndiGo closed at Rs 1,675.10, down Rs 16.65 or 0.98 percent.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
