Dramatic pictures depict firefighters <\/strong>putting out a fire on a passenger airliner operated by British Airways. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the incident on Wednesday, emergency personnel at Copenhagen Airport in Denmark had to spray flame-retardant foam<\/strong> on the jet’s engine and wheels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airplane’s intended passenger, Gabe Gudgel of Oklahoma City, said: <\/p>

“We were waiting for our flight to board and it was delayed by a few minutes. Then, when the aircraft approached our gate after landing, the wheel caught fire and continued to smoke.”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

At that point, ambulances and fire trucks encircled the plane and began hosing it down<\/em>. I think everyone who was on the plane made it out without incident. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They continued to spray it down while we waited for a few hours.\n For almost 20 minutes, they sprayed water on the wheel, but it was STILL burning.\n\nFinally, the flight was cancelled, and we departed. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n

A crazy day! Fire services <\/strong>were called to help with the aircraft on landing in Copenhagen, according to a British Airways representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
 The BA820 safely discharged all passengers and crew. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Without being certain that it was safe, we would never fly an aircraft<\/strong>.It appeared like our British Airways trip from Copenhagen to London could be a little delayed, according to a previous online post by Gabe. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
They appear to be cleaning the wing <\/strong>and inspecting the engine right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
