Dramatic pictures show a Spanish F18 warplane flying close alongside the Airbus A319 much to the shock of holidaymakers.And it’s now emerged the security alert was sparked by a Brit holidaymaker, 18, who allegedly made a bomb threat on board.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was last night facing a potential bill running into the thousands after being arrested by police. The plane touched down and specialist officers and sniffer dogs boarded to check out the aircraft.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idiot teen is acknowledged to have been part of a group of friends who had traveled to the Mediterranean holiday island for a celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is expected to face a large compensation bill which could include the charges of the police operation and the scrambling of the military jet. Police sources proved he was likely to have to pick up the tab for the police operation if he were convicted. Passengers were reportedly kept on the tarmac for four hours while the plane was checked out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Footage shared on social media shows the fighter jet – the same plane which Tom Cruise flies in Top Gun – next to the passenger jet’s distinctly orange liveried wing.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video – which has been 51,000 times on Twitter – shows the pilot tipping his wings at the EasyJet plane – a symbol understood by pilots to mean “follow me”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

EasyJet flight EZY8303 was then escorted as the plane touched down on the Spanish <\/a>island of Menorca<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The plane landed around 30 min late after the mid-air drama.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And the incident reportedly led to a Ryanair plane going two and half hours late to London<\/a>. A spokesman for the Civil Guard approved today: \u201cThe Civil Guard has arrested an 18-year-old British national as the alleged author of a crime of public disorder in Mahon in Menorca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYesterday, the control tower at Menorca Airport was alerted to a bomb threat on a plane heading from London to the island capital Mahon which was still in the air and around the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
