In a contract worth USD 37 billion, the major Chinese airlines will purchase 292 aircraft from Airbus, the European aerospace company revealed on Friday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Airbus confirms the signing of orders with Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, and Shenzhen Airlines for a total of 292 A320 Family aircraft, reflecting the solid recovery momentum and fortunate future for the Chinese aviation business”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>the company said<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

These orders will be added to the backlog if the necessary conditions are completed, according to a statement from Airbus.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These new orders, according to Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer and Head of International at Airbus, show that their clients have a lot of faith in the company. “It is also a strong endorsement of the performance, quality, fuel efficiency and sustainability of the world’s leading family of single-aisle aircraft from our airline clients in China.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We applaud the outstanding work of George Xu and the entire Airbus China team, as well as the teams of our customers, for having concluded these protracted and in-depth conversations that have lasted throughout the challenging COVID pandemic”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the end of May 2022, there were over 2,070 Airbus aircraft in operation with Chinese operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The statement claims that the A320neo Family includes Sharklets and new generation engines, which together save at least 20% on fuel and CO2 while reducing noise by 50%. The Airbus 18-inch wide seats in economy are a basic feature of the A320neo Family, which provides unrivalled comfort in all classes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 8,000 orders for the A320neo Family had been placed by more than 130 customers by the end of May 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airbus has delivered more than 2,200 A320neo Family aircraft since its Entry Into Service six years ago, reducing 15 million tonnes of CO2 in the process.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
