On May 26, 2022, British low-cost carrier easyJet<\/strong> was forced to cancel between 200 and 400 flights across Europe due to an IT system malfunction.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing IT system issues,\" <\/strong>easyJet said in a statement. \n\n\"This means that flights scheduled to depart between 13:00 and 15:00 UK <\/strong>time today may be impacted.\"\n\n \"Our team of IT experts is trying to get the systems back up and running as soon as possible.\"<\/em><\/pre>\n\n\n\n

Flights resumed later that evening, however there were still delays<\/strong> on May 27. The nature of the hiccup was not revealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a result of workforce shortages across the aviation industry, the United Kingdom has already seen significant flight cancellations and delays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To mitigate the impact of the shortages, easyJet has announced that six seats will be removed from numerous Airbus A319 aircraft, leaving the aircraft with a 150-seat capacity<\/strong> and allowing the aircraft to operate with fewer cabin staff members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
