The Indian aviation regulator DGCA reported on Friday that 1.08 crore domestic passengers flew in April, up 2% from 1.06 crore in March. The passenger load factors \u2014 or occupancy rates \u2014 for all major Indian private carriers were above 78 percent in April, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SpiceJet, IndiGo, Vistara, Go First, Air India, and AirAsia India had load factors of 85.9%, 78.7%, 82.9 percent, 80.3 percent, 79.5 percent, and 79.6 percent in April 2022, according to the report.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travel restrictions enacted in India and other countries in response to the COVID-19 outbreak have had a substantial impact on the aviation business in the previous two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo, India’s largest airline, transported 64.11 lakh passengers in April, accounting for 58.9% of the domestic market, according to the DGCA.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the aviation regulator, Go First was ranked second, carrying 11.09 lakh passengers in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to DGCA data, SpiceJet carried 10.01 lakh passengers and Air India carried 8.26 lakh passengers in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the figures, Vistara and AirAsia India carried 9.04 lakh and 5.92 lakh passengers in April, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to DGCA data, AirAsia India achieved the best on-time performance of 94.8 percent in April at four major airports, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sunil Bhaskaran, MD and CEO of AirAsia India, commented on the achievement, saying, “Ensuring efficiency and consistency in our operations is key to offering outstanding service across all our touchpoints.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’ve done this by focusing on technology, including the mature use of our RedSmart aviation analytics software, which allows real-time monitoring of Precision Time Schedule activities for aircraft turnaround during base and transit departures”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>He added<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In April, Vistara and IndiGo were second and third, respectively, with 90.9 percent and 90.1 percent on-time performance at the four airports, according to the DGCA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
