Now, the levy of the fee has been extended once again till June 30, 2022.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-flyers-from-mumbai-will-have-to-pay-the-development-fee\">Flyers from Mumbai will have to pay the development fee  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Till June 30, 2022, flyers from Mumbai will have to pay the development fee (DF) of Rs 120 and Rs 720 per departing domestic and international passenger, respectively. The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Airports_Economic_Regulatory_Authority\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Airports Economic Regulatory Authority<\/a> (AERA) has grown the levy of fees from March 31, 2022, to June end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Mumbai-International-Airport.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-20394\" width=\"770\" height=\"431\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Mumbai-International-Airport.webp 770w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Mumbai-International-Airport-600x336.webp 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Mumbai-International-Airport-300x168.webp 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Mumbai-International-Airport-768x430.webp 768w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Mumbai-International-Airport-750x420.webp 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><figcaption><strong> Mumbai International Airport\u00a0Ltd | Aviationa2z.com<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Along with this, the regulatory body has also instructed the Airports\u00a0Authority of India\u00a0(AAI) to &#8220;examine all issues being raised by\u00a0Mumbai International Airport\u00a0Ltd (MIAL)\u201d on this subject in a week by May 15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-chhatrapati-shivaji-maharaj-international-airport\"> Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The fee dates back to December 2012, when AERA had declare charging a DF of Rs 100 and Rs 600 per departing domestic and international passenger, respectively, till April 30, 2021. This was aimed at financing a deficit of Rs 3,845 crore in\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/csmia.adaniairports.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport<\/a>\u00a0(CSMIA) capacity enhancement project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to this, the regulator, in January 2016, also allowed a levy of Rs 20 and Rs 120 per departing domestic and international passenger, respectively, till March 31, 2021, to finance metro works at the airport worth Rs 518 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>These two fees merged together to total Rs 120 and Rs 720 per departing domestic and international passenger<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>.From March-end 2021, the levy of DF was extended for a year owing to the Covid-19 pandemic as it affected the footfalls and collection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then at MIAL\u2019s request, AERA extended these two levies till March 31, 2022. DF to be billed as of September 30, 2021, is Rs 401.9 crore, AAI told. However, as per MIAL, DF billable (on that date) is Rs 1459 crore.
