The aviation ministry extended the term of the Concession Deal of GMR Infrastructure Limited (GIL) for operating the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad till 2068.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company approved the receipt of a letter of confirmation from the Ministry of Civil Aviation extending the term of the December 20, 2004, concession agreement for operating the airport for a further time of 30 years from March 23, 2038.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited <\/a>declared on Wednesday that it had received permission to work at Hyderabad\u2019s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport for a further time of 30 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, the company confirmed the receipt of a letter of confirmation from the Ministry of Civil Aviation extending the term of the December 20, 2004, concession deal for operating the airport for a further period from March 23, 2038, up to March 22, 2068.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport is India\u2019s first greenfield airport built under a public-private partnership. Commissioned in a record period of 31 months and inaugurated in March 2008, the airport had an initial capacity of 12 million passengers per annum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
