The DGCA has taken the following actions: DGCA has off rostered the involved crew, including the AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) who released the aircraft from Durgapur and was in charge of M\/s Spice Jet&#8217;s Maintenance Control Center, pending investigation&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p><cite>In a statement, the DGCA stated<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>During the landing on Sunday, fourteen passengers and three crew members were hurt. According to the DGCA, the injuries were to the head, spine, shoulder, forehead, and face.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The turbulence encountered by a flight while landing in Durgapur, and the damage caused to the passengers is unfortunate. The <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DGCAIndia?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@DGCAIndia<\/a> has deputed a team to investigate the incident. One of the passengers was sent to Diamond Hospital with a head injury, while the other was taken to Mission Hospital with a spine injury <\/em><\/strong>&#8220;The note continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After landing, those with head injuries had to be patched up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DGCA, which is investigating the event, has released disturbing details about the landing, including how the autopilot failed and the aeroplane had to be managed manually for several minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passengers on board the plane recorded the panic when the plane jolted violently multiple times during the descent. The oxygen masks were removed, and the passengers&#8217; luggage and other items began to slide around on the floor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;The following events occurred as a result of the aircraft&#8217;s extreme turbulence\u2026 The oxygen panels detach and the oxygen masks fall away. The overhead ornamental panel and a couple seat hand rests have been damaged. The lock on one cabin overhead bin (hat rack) was found to be damaged. The objects from the galley were thrown across the floor.
