On Wednesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, <\/strong>who is on a three-day visit to the Southeast Asian country, launched four new airline routes between India and Vietnam.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Birla and Vietnam's National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue not only restored direct air connections between the two nations<\/strong> that had been interrupted in the aftermath of the COVID-19 outbreak, but also inaugurated air services on new routes,<\/strong> according to a release from the Lok Sabha Secretariat. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n

VietJet, a Vietnamese airline, <\/strong>operated regular flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi prior to the onset of the epidemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, during the emergence of the coronavirus pandemic,<\/strong> these services were halted. According to the statement, these flights have now resumed during Birla’s visit to Vietnam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
  • Vietjet announced on Wednesday that beginning April 29, it will operate six flights between India and Vietnam in a phased way.<\/li>
  •  Flights between Delhi and Hanoi and Delhi and Ho Chi Minh City will resume on April 29 and 30, respectively.<\/li>
  • Birla’s four new flights will connect Hanoi to Mumbai, Ho Chi Minh City to Mumbai, and Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s southern tourist island, to New Delhi and Mumbai. <\/li>
  • These new routes will be served by Vietjet. <\/li>
  • Flights between Mumbai and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will begin on June 3 and 4, respectively, while flights between Phu Quoc and Mumbai and New Delhi will begin in the second week of September. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
    Birla stated during the event that the new and improved connectivity between Vietnam and India will offer commercial and tourism prospects, boosting both nations’ economies. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    After a two-year suspension owing to the epidemic, India resumed scheduled foreign passenger flights on March 27. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
    During this time, just a few international passenger flights to and from India were available because to air bubble agreements with select countries<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
    There was no similar air bubble agreement between India and Vietnam. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
    In the presence of Birla and Hue, an agreement of understanding for a joint venture between Galaxy Digital Holdings, the Sovico Group of Vietnam,<\/strong> and Tech Mahindra Limited of India was also inked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
