The Adani Group’s Ahmedabad airport has finished recarpeting work on its 3.5-kilometer-long runway<\/strong> in a world-record span of 75 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The firm said in a statement that this duration is the best among brownfield runways in India. \n\n\"In the pre-covid period, Ahmedabad's SVPIA is Gujarat's busiest airport, with over 200 flights per day.\"<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
 Adani Airport Holdings Ltd <\/strong>(AAHL<\/strong>)<\/a> overcame the challenge of recarpeting the runway without disrupting scheduled flights by employing only nine hours of NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) every day. <\/p>
SVPIA kept the runway open everyday for 160 flights on average during the remaining. 15 hours of the day throughout the 75 days it required to finish the project,” it stated. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The amount of asphalt required for the recarpeting was enough to cover a 200-kilometer stretch of roa.  While the concrete used for the runway drainage system was enough to support a 40-story building. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project was originally scheduled to last 200 working days<\/strong>, beginning on November 10, 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“However, the Adani Group had revised the objective to 90 days by adding resources, in keeping with the brand’s continuing effort to increase operational efficiency and minimise passenger discomfort<\/strong>.” <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Following that, the project team from SVPIA finished the work in just 75 days. The project required 1 million safe manhours and 600 people, including staff and workers, as well as over 200 advanced pieces of equipment, according to the statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“In addition to other improvements made at SVPIA, the airport now has a comprehensive airfield lighting system<\/strong> in the runway<\/em>. And associated taxiways that is equivalent to lighting an entire district of 12 to 14 villages,” <\/strong><\/em>the statement continued.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
