Several airlines told Sunday that operations are returning to regular. The spate of cancellations came as air travel is rebounding from the pandemic, with a strong need for spring-break flights. People on social media complained about waiting on hold or in lines for hours to get their canceled flights rescheduled and being stranded for days.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Severe weather in the Southeast and multiple air traffic control hold programs have created significant impacts on the industry,\u201d a JetBlue spokesperson told in an email. \u201cToday\u2019s cancellations will support us reset our operation and safely carry our crews and aircraft back into position.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-southwest-airlines\">Southwest Airlines  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.southwest.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Southwest Airlines<\/a> also cited \u201cweather and airspace congestion\u201d Saturday in Florida, as well as a \u201ctechnology issue.\u201d It canceled about 1,000 flights over the weekend but told that as of 1 p.m. Eastern, it had no more cancellations on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"770\" height=\"431\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/airplane-770x433-2.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19065\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/airplane-770x433-2.webp 770w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/airplane-770x433-2-600x336.webp 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/airplane-770x433-2-300x168.webp 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/airplane-770x433-2-768x430.webp 768w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/airplane-770x433-2-750x420.webp 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><figcaption>Aviationa2z.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>American told Florida weather Saturday affected its operations, and it was recovering today. Alaska Airlines seemed to be dealing with a separate problem. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline told Sunday that weekend flight cancellations that began Friday have affected more than 37,000 customers and, further revocations were likely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline declined to say why it revoked flights but referred in its statement to contract negotiations with its pilots.
