A Russian missile attack<\/strong> has destroyed an aircraft repair plant in Ukraine\u2019s western city of Lviv<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

 During the early morning on March 18, 2022, the 23rd day of the war in Ukraine, Russian missiles struck an area<\/strong> near Lviv airport, Ukrainian media reported. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n

 Lviv\u2019s Mayor, Andriy Sadovyi <\/strong>said the city was hit by multiple explosions following an air raid siren. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thick plumes of smoke were visible in the sky.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
At least three blasts were heard near to the airport’s territory,but the airport itself was not attacked, a witness told local media. However, some buildings at a nearby plane repair plant were destroyed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeveral Russian missiles hit the aircraft repair plant.<\/strong><\/p>
 Its buildings were destroyed by the blows. <\/strong><\/p>
The active work of the plant was stopped in advance. Rescuers and relevant utilities are working on the site<\/strong>,\u201d Sadovyi said.  <\/p>
At the time of writing, no casualties<\/strong> have so far been reported. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

According to Ukrainian Air Force, six Kh-555 cruise missiles <\/strong>were fired from the direction of the Black Sea, two of them were shot down by Ukrainian anti-air defenses. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lviv is the largest city in western Ukraine, a UNESCO<\/a> world heritage site, <\/strong>and a popular tourist destination. <\/p>
It has also served as a hub to allow the passage of humanitarian and military supplies <\/em>into the country during the ongoing conflict. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
