We need to get Air India up and running, which is my ideal project<\/strong> right now. We want it to be the best airline in the world. N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons and Chairman of Air India, <\/strong>described the task as “huge<\/strong>.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stated that the committee has several ideas for revamping the airline.<\/p>

“Change will not occur overnight. “<\/strong><\/p>

As a differentiation, we’ll start with technology, he said, adding, “Air India would be a national airline for me.”<\/strong> It may be owned by the Tatas, but it will be a national carrier.<\/p>Chandrasekaran<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Right decision<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In response to a query about whether buying Air India was a hazardous move, Chandrasekaran said it was the right one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Right from the start, I was very clear. <\/strong><\/p>

I am grateful for the board’s backing, as well as Ratan Tata’s unwavering support. <\/p>

We made a cautious bid.<\/strong><\/p>

I believe in capital allocation as well, but everything must be based solely on financial considerations<\/strong>,” he remarked at a United Way Chennai event on Thursday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Chandrasekaran stated that the group’s future plans include the formation of other businesses. The auto industry is undergoing a major transformation, with significant investments being made in renewable energy, electric vehicle batteries, and semiconductor production. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group is investing a significant amount of money in these ventures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three Themes <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Three themes, he added, are driving the group’s expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from establishing future enterprises, they are improving core businesses, transforming them digitally and sustainably.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He believes that in order for India to reach its full potential<\/strong>, it must address two major issues: jobs and access. <\/strong>The majority of India lacks access to education and healthcare. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, a large number of jobs must be created. Currently, this issue is being addressed in its own way. What’s needed is a solution that allows people to gain access while also creating work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology can assist us in this endeavour. <\/p>

“In terms of India’s future, I am tremendously bullish and optimistic<\/strong>.”<\/p>

“This is going to be a pivotal decade, the decade that counts,<\/em>” he predicted. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
