Airlines have to spend for the airport terminal using aerobridge facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ministry-of-civil-aviation\">Ministry of Civil Aviation  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>In 2018, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.civilaviation.gov.in\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Ministry of Civil Aviation had<\/a> issued a circular directing all&nbsp;Indian airlines&nbsp;to use an aerobridge, if known, for boarding and deboarding passengers for their convenience,&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In its report tabled before the Rajya Sabha during the Budget Session, the panel on Tuesday told that the airlines were charging passengers for aerobridge facilities but not using it. Elderly passengers have been forced to operate the stairs to board and deboard the flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"678\" height=\"381\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/aviation-aircraft-airport5-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-766\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/aviation-aircraft-airport5-1.jpg 678w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/aviation-aircraft-airport5-1-600x337.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/aviation-aircraft-airport5-1-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 678px) 100vw, 678px\" \/><figcaption><strong>Aviationa2z.com<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe committee deplores this apathetic and unreasonable attitude of the private airlines and strongly recommends that its circular on the aforesaid subject may be strictly enforced,\u201d the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Tourism, and Culture, led by Bharatiya Janata Party MP TG Venkatesh, told.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>The panel recommended that the civil aviation ministry should conduct regular surprise checks to ensure compliance of their 2018 circular.<\/em><\/li><li>In case there is a default, the concerned private airlines should be penalised,\u201d the committee tod.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Telling that other airlines were charging&nbsp;varied fares&nbsp;for the exact distance and duration, the panel requested the Union government to confirm that the passengers are \u201cnot fleeced in the garb of commercialization\u201d, said the&nbsp;Deccan Herald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It also described the airlines\u2019 decision to charge extra money for selecting seats as \u201carbitrary and unjustifiable\u201d.The committee agreed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.civilaviation.gov.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">civil aviation sector<\/a> grows in an open market and private players should be given a free hand. However, it told that the Aircraft Rules, 1937, especially mentions that the fares should be reasonable and should maintain reasonable profit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the above context, the committee feels that the reply of the ministry expressing that air travel is purely a contractual matter between the airline and the passenger, is not at all justified,\u201d it told. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe committee is of the opinion that a balance also must be maintained between commercial goods of the airlines and the interests of the passengers.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/30_12_2021_13_08_43_0426463.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16377\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/30_12_2021_13_08_43_0426463.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/30_12_2021_13_08_43_0426463-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption>Aviationa2z.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>It asked stakeholders to consider providing a \u201csmall complimentary water bottle keeping in view the tradition of the country to give the highest regard to guests and offer water on arrival\u201d as well as a \u201csmall packet of biscuits\u201d free of cost to every passenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thank you<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stay updated with aviationa2z.
