Britain has unveiled new aviation sanctions providing it the power to detain any Russian aircraft and prohibiting exports of aviation or space-related interests to Russia.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prohibition includes any aircraft owned, worked, or chartered by anyone connected with Russia or designated individuals or entities, and will include the power to detain any aircraft owned by persons connected with Russia, the Foreign Office told in a report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new measures will also prevent aviation and space-related exports including insurance and re-insurance.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aviation sanctions threaten the safety of Russian flights<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Russia’s foreign ministry has told that sanctions imposed by the United States and European Union on aviation threatened the security of Russian passenger flights, the RIA Novosti news agency has said.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

British transport minister Grant Shapps told Britain had used new aviation sanctions to impound an aircraft after making it a criminal offense for Russian aircraft to fly or land in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least 10 people were killed in a Russian <\/a>military attack in the eastern Ukrainian town of Severodonestk, a local official for the Lugansk region has told in a report on Telegram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Russian military<\/a> “opened fire” on residential homes and other buildings in the town, he said, without immediately specifying whether it was an artillery attack. The region has seen heavy fighting in current days<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moves by US-led NATO have pushed tension between Russia <\/a>and Ukraine to a “breaking point”, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian has said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
