Following a mounting backlash to Russia’s invasion<\/strong> of Ukraine, American aviation giant Boeing announced on Tuesday that it was suspending its assistance for Russian airlines and its business<\/strong> in Moscow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Joe Biden <\/strong>is expected to declare a restriction on Russian aircraft using US airspace during his State of the Union speech <\/strong>on Tuesday, according to US media reports. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to CNN and other news outlets, the sanction will join the US to a group that includes Canada and a number of European nations that have closed their airspace to Russian planes<\/strong> and other aircraft in reaction to the incursion into Ukraine that began last week.\n\nIn reaction to the flight restriction, Russia's flag carrier Aeroflot, which operates the Boeing 737 and 777<\/strong>, declared last week that it will cease flights to Europe.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n
In recent days, the US and its European allies have imposed harsh penalties on Moscow, including blocking Russian institutions from using the SWIFT<\/a><\/strong>  messaging system, <\/strong>and Washington has proposed steps aimed especially at the country’s central bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
