Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed Akasa Air<\/a> <\/strong>is planning to hire around 350 cabin crew members and pilots by March 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per the report, the aviation company is offering as much as 80 percent higher salaries to pilots<\/strong> than what is offered by rival carrier SpiceJet operating similar Boeing 737 flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our pilot and cabin crew hiring is currently underway. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>

We expect to have around 18 aircraft by the end of Ma<\/strong>rch 2023 and the employee strength including pilots and cabin crew will be commensurate with the level of our network and operations<\/em>” <\/p>A spokesperson for the airline was quoted as saying in the report.<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The low-cost carrier<\/strong> has ordered 70 Boeing MAX airplanes and is expected to start operations within a few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • The civil aviation space has been significantly impacted by the pandemic, and the emergence of the Omicron variant meant another blow to the recovery path of the sector. <\/strong><\/li>
  • With many employees including pilots losing their jobs following the pandemic, the new offer is expected to have several takers.<\/li>
  • To begin with, Akasa Air will have services from metros to Tier II and III cities. <\/em><\/li>
  • There will also be flights from metros to metros so that the aircraft is moved around the system.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Akasa Air CEO Vinay Dube had earlier said to PTI that international services are very much part of Akasa Air’s future plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
