An Airbus A350 passenger aircraft operated by the <strong>Finnish flag carrier collided with a large bird<\/strong> after it landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok, Thailand.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collision occurred on February 17, 2022, after the Finnair Airbus A350-900 jet, registered OH-LWF, arrived from<strong> Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport (HEL)<\/strong> in Finland as flight AY141.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"728\" height=\"485\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/SAVE_20220219_084520.jpg\" alt=\"A350 passenger aircraft of Finnish flag carrier collided with a large bird after it landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport Thailand.\u00a0\" class=\"wp-image-17886\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/SAVE_20220219_084520.jpg 728w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/SAVE_20220219_084520-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/SAVE_20220219_084520-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 728px) 100vw, 728px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As it was reported by the&nbsp;Aviation Herald,&nbsp;the airline said the aircraft collided with a large bird prior to departure as <strong>return flight AY1412 to Helsinki<\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>It is not known what&nbsp; damage the aircraft suffered, but the Aviation Herald added that the aircraft was still on the ground 18 hours later.&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>It\u2019s the second incident in one day for Finnair. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Earlier on February 17, 2022, a Finnair&nbsp; ATR 72-500 turboprop regional airliner was forced to make an emergency landing in Riga, Latvia due to reports of smoke in the cabin, the Latvian State Fire and Rescue Service told Lithuanian\u202f media.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;That incident occurred when the plane, registered OH-ATI, was operating regular daily flight AY1107 between Helsinki, Finland, and Vilnius, Lithuania.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li> According to data from\u202f Flightradar24.com, the plane took off from Helsinki Airport (HEL) at around 11.30 a.m. (UTC) and was scheduled to land at Vilnius International Airport (VNO) an hour and a half later.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>However, as the plane neared the Lithuanian border, at a flight altitude of 17,000 ft, it immediately began to descend, and the flight crew turned the aircraft towards the nearest airport to perform an emergency landing.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/IBERIA-AIRBUS-A350-900-EC-NDR.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17887\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/IBERIA-AIRBUS-A350-900-EC-NDR.webp 500w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/IBERIA-AIRBUS-A350-900-EC-NDR-300x169.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The pilots landed the turboprop at <strong>Riga International Airport (RIX) <\/strong>in Latvia at around 1.10 p.m. (UTC) due to reports of smoke in the plane cabin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A spokesperson for <strong>RIX airport Ilze Salna <\/strong>confirmed to the media that after safely landing in Riga, 18 passengers were evacuated from the plane due to safety risks.\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay Updated with us!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay tuned with us.
