Discussions are underway with civil aviation authorities and various airlines on how to increase the number of flights between India and Ukraine, people familiar with the matter told<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indian authorities are in discussions with several airlines on increasing the number of flights from Ukraine to facilitate the recovery of Indians who want to leave the eastern European nation amid tensions over a Russian troop build-up<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Talks are underway between the external affairs and civil aviation ministries <\/a>and several airlines on increasing flights between India and Ukraine, people familiar with the matter told on Wednesday. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Control rooms were launched in the Indian <\/a>embassy in Kyiv and in the external affairs ministry in New Delhi to answer queries of Indian nationals in Ukraine and their families in India. The embassy has also set up a 24-hour helpline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The embassy in Kyiv acknowledged, in a brief report on Wednesday, it has acquired\u201cseveral requests about non-availability of flights\u201d to India <\/a>and advised students not to panic \u201cbut book the before available and convenient flights\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo meet the additional demand, more flights are being scheduled soon, including from Ukraine International Airlines,<\/a> Air India, etc. Details on the same would be shared by the embassy as and when approved,\u201d the report counted<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The embassy also told it was in contact with Ukrainian authorities regarding the \u201cappropriate regularisation of [the] education process\u201d because of the concerns of Indian students about the continuation of their classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The development reached a day after the Indian embassy in Kyiv requested Indians in Ukraine, especially students, to consider leaving and to avoid the non-essential journeys within the country amid persisting fears of an invasion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
