{"id":17715,"date":"2022-02-14T09:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-02-14T03:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?p=17715"},"modified":"2022-02-14T00:12:44","modified_gmt":"2022-02-13T18:42:44","slug":"air-india-govt-to-start-work-on-sale-of-ground-handling-arm-of-air-india-next-fiscal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/14\/air-india-govt-to-start-work-on-sale-of-ground-handling-arm-of-air-india-next-fiscal\/","title":{"rendered":"Air India :Govt to start work on sale of ground-handling arm of Air India next fiscal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">The government will start working on selling the ground-handling arm of erstwhile national carrier Air India and the <strong>Expression of Interest (EoI<\/strong>) is expected in the next fiscal, an official said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"948\" height=\"533\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/air-india-1200-sixteen_nine_0-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17641\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/air-india-1200-sixteen_nine_0-1.jpg 948w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/air-india-1200-sixteen_nine_0-1-600x337.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/air-india-1200-sixteen_nine_0-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/air-india-1200-sixteen_nine_0-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/air-india-1200-sixteen_nine_0-1-750x422.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 948px) 100vw, 948px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;<em>We already have the Cabinet approval for selling the subsidiaries of <a href=\"http:\/\/airindia.com\">AirIndia<\/a>. <\/em><\/p><p><em>So we will come out with an EoI inviting bids for one of the ground-handling arms in the next fiscal<\/em>,&#8221; an official told PTI. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Currently, four Air India subsidiaries &#8211;<ol><li>&#8211; Air India Air Transport Services Ltd (AIATSL),<\/li><li> Airline Allied Services Ltd (AASL) or Alliance Air, <\/li><li>AirIndia Engineering Services Ltd (AIESL) and <\/li><li>Hotel Corporation of India Ltd (HCI) are with AirIndia Assets Holding Ltd (AIAHL), which is a special purpose vehicle set up in 2019 for holding non-core assets and debt of AirIndia. <\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse has-text-align-center\">The government had last month transferred the ownership of AirIndia to Tata Group, after the later emerged as the winning bidder for buying the loss-making carrier.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The official further said that it is also to be decided whether the<strong> Air India Specific Alternative Mechanism (AISAM<\/strong>) for AirIndia privatisation or the Alternative Mechanism for CPSE disinvestment would be the decision-making ministerial panel for privatising these subsidiaries.<\/li><li>The AISAM is headed by the Home Minister and <em>comprises the Finance Minister, Commerce and Industry Minister and Civil Aviation Minister<\/em>.<\/li><li>The <strong>Alternative Mechanism of CPSE disinvestment <\/strong>comprises Road Transport and Highways Minister, Finance Minister and Commerce and Industry Minister. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"555\" src=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/photo1-1024x555.jpg\" alt=\"Govt will start working on selling the ground-handling arm of erstwhile national carrier Air India and the Expression of Interest\" class=\"wp-image-17717\" srcset=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/photo1-1024x555.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/photo1-600x325.jpg 600w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/photo1-300x163.jpg 300w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/photo1-768x416.jpg 768w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/photo1-750x407.jpg 750w, https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/photo1.jpg 1070w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Separately, AIAHL also has over \u20b914,700 crore worth non-core assets like land and building of <a href=\"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/12\/air-india-and-airasia-india-sign-cooperation-agreement\/\">Air India<\/a> which also has to be monetised.
