{"id":17590,"date":"2022-02-09T13:00:58","date_gmt":"2022-02-09T07:30:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/?p=17590"},"modified":"2022-02-09T13:01:01","modified_gmt":"2022-02-09T07:31:01","slug":"rafale-fighter-of-french-navy-forced-to-land-in-malta-after-refueling-mishap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviationa2z.com\/index.php\/2022\/02\/09\/rafale-fighter-of-french-navy-forced-to-land-in-malta-after-refueling-mishap\/","title":{"rendered":"Rafale fighter Of French Navy forced to land in Malta after refueling mishap"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">A <strong>Dassault Rafale Marine fighter<\/strong> of the French Navy was forced to land at <strong>Malta International Airport (MLA)<\/strong> following a refueling mishap. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft was operating from the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">A technical team was deployed from the carrier in coordination with \ud83c\uddf2\ud83c\uddf9 authorities, to repaire the fighter, Rafale now safely returned to \ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7 Charles de Gaulle.<\/p>&mdash; French Carrier Strike Group (@French_CSG) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/French_CSG\/status\/1490477481102655491?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 7, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The carrier recently deployed to the <strong>Mediterranean Sea for Mission Clemenceau 22, <\/strong>whose main goal is to support counterterrorism in the Middle East. <\/p><p>It will also provide \u201c<strong>reassurance and situation assessment measures\u201d <\/strong>in the Black Sea, currently the stage of tensions between Ukraine and Russia. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Late on February 6, 2022, the Rafale M <strong>broke the nozzle <\/strong>of its probe during mid-air refueling, preventing it from receiving the propellant it needed to return to the carrier, according to local defense media Horizon Malta.<\/li><li> The jet diverted to Malta International Airport (MLA). <\/li><li>The incident was confirmed to AeroTime by the French Navy, which added that the <strong>Rafale was recovered shortly after its diversion. <\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An NH-90 Caiman Marine helicopter was sent from the Charles de Gaulle to the airport, transporting a technical team capable of repairing and refueling the fighter.
