Air Force receives first Leonardo M-346 trainers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">The <strong>Qatar Emiri Air Force (QEAF) <\/strong>recently received its first 3 Leonardo M-346 trainers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first aircraft in Qatari colors was spotted parked next to a Dassault Rafale on January 26, 2021, during a ceremony of the <strong>Al Zaeem Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Attiyah Air Academy<\/strong> at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"750\" height=\"536\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In November 2020, the <a href=\"http:\/\/qeaf.com\">QEAF<\/a> announced its intention to train its pilots at the International Flight Training School (IFTS), a joint initiative by the Aeronautica Militare and Leonardo. <\/li><li>The school is located in Galatina, southern Italy.<\/li><li> It brings together instructors from the Italian Air Force and T-346 jet trainers developed by the Italian manufacturers Aermacchi and Leonardo. <\/li><li>The first QEAF pilots arrived at the IFTS in June 2021.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>The acquisition of the Leonardo M-346, though alluded to at the time, was never formally announced. <\/li><li>It is now confirmed.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-style-large is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong><em>&#8220;The QEAF has ordered six aircraft as part of an agreement for the Qatari pilot training at the International Flight Training School&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p><cite>Leonardo told defense publication Janes<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;The first three aircraft [&#8230;] are now in Qatar.&#8221;&nbsp;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" has-text-align-center\">In the last couple of years, Qatar has amassed an impressive fighter fleet, ordering <strong>24 Dassault Rafale fighter jets, 24 Eurofighter Typhoons, and 36 Boeing F-15QA, <\/strong>the latter being a variant specially developed for the QEAF. <\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>While Boeing and Dassault are respectively in charge of training for the <strong>F-15QA and the Rafale, <\/strong>Britain\u2019s Royal Air Force teaches Qatari pilots how to operate the Typhoon.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay tuned and updated with
